The local Government Board meeting this morning under the presidency of the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, the basis of an extraordinary call for the granting of grants to sports entities and associations for competitive attendance corresponding to the 2019 exercise
As explained by the Councilor for Social Welfare and Sports, Noelia Arroyo, through this extraordinary call will be distributed about 120,000 euros that were not awarded in the previous call in April in which the entities were eligible for a total of 550,000 euros.
The Government Board has also approved this morning the award of the administrative authorization for the occupation and installation of craft and restoration stalls that will make up the Medieval Market, in streets, squares and spaces of the municipal public domain, in the historic center of the city .
The winning company has been Legend Especialistas, which will pay a fee of 17,000 euros.
The event will be held on November 8, 9 and 10.
Finally and among other matters, the local Government Board has accepted this morning the donation by a citizen of a Roman amphora of underwater origin of the coast of Cartagena, for its deposit in the municipal archaeological museum Enrique Escudero de Castro.
It is an amphora of those used to transport wine and according to the donor's indications it is likely that it came from the so-called “captain's wreck” submerged south of the Island of Escombreras and found in 1961.
