The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón;
The Councilor Delegate for Urban Services, Projects and Works, Juan Pedro Torralba, and the Councilor for the Decentralization Area, Diego Ortega, visited three works carried out in different parts of the municipality on Friday for almost 550,000 euros.
Two of them, which are carried out in El Algar and in the San José Obrero neighborhood, are already completed while a third, in El Llano del Beal, is in its final phase of execution.
In total, they add up to 544,842.54 euros.
PARK IN THE ALGAR
The municipal officials have visited the park located on Lobo and José Mondeneu street of the council of El Algar.
This area, which has been completely remodeled, has an area of ​​more than 4,800 square meters with three spaces perfectly delimited by a walk that includes, in addition to the children's playground with the theme of the popular Playmobil toys, a basketball court and a Terrace area with picnic tables.
This remodeling is included in the 2019 Participatory Budget project and has a total area of ​​4,813 square meters.
It has meant an investment of 126,952.42 euros and involves the incorporation of new trees and LED lighting.
SOCIAL CENTER IN SAN JOSÉ OBRERO
On the other hand, the mayor has visited the Social Center of San José Obrero, whose users already have a completely new cover, after the removal of the fiber cement plates that were before.
In this way, the roof of the premises, of 244 square meters of surface, has been changed to a plate of beams and straps of laminated wood.
The old roof, 34 years old, urgently required replacement.
This work, also included in the Participatory Budgets, has involved an investment of 59,453.12 euros.
NEW SOCIAL PREMISES IN EL LLANO
Finally, the mayor has been able to verify the progress of the construction work of the new social premises of El Llano del Beal, which will be located on the grounds of the old medical office and next to the new health center of the council.
The work, which will require an investment of 358,437 euros, is included in the Neighborhood and Provincial Plan.
The new 335-square-meter building is distributed over two floors, so that on the ground floor there are four offices and two meeting rooms, as well as two toilets and a cleaning room, and a first floor, in which has been built three meeting rooms, an office, two toilets and a small warehouse.
Ana Belén Castejón has shown his satisfaction for the completion of the works in El Algar and San José Obrero, since “the park and the change of coverage of the social premises have been two works very demanded by the neighbors of both localities and, despite that they have suffered some delay due to the complexity of the projects, they will soon be a reality ”.
In addition, before the next completion of the construction work of the social premises of Llano del Beal, the mayor of Cartagena recalled that this installation “is an old vindication of the neighbors”, while remarking that “the works are going to very good pace so that, if there are no setbacks, at the beginning of 2020 it can be inaugurated, which will give all the Beal deputation groups a decent place to be able to carry out all kinds of events ”.
