About thirty students have participated in the volunteer preparation workshop of the Los Dolores Campus to help a large number of associations in the Region during this four-month period.
On the Campus of the UCAM in Cartagena, former military barracks of Los Dolores, about thirty university students have prepared today to spend part of their time, at least, over the next four months in about twenty groups of the Region of Cartagena between which include the Casa Cuna, the FADE Foundation, AFAL, Asido, Abraham Project, APICES or D'Genes, among others.
After learning about the rights and obligations of the Volunteer Law, this group of volunteers has pledged to dedicate this time to helping groups of care for children, the elderly or people with disabilities, the sick and other social action, adding to other groups of students that have been collaborating with these entities since previous years in the framework of cooperation agreements promoted by UCAM.
These new collaborators are added to the 130 who will participate in the leisure activities that are organized from the Chaplaincy of the Los Dolores Campus for residents in the Nursing Home of the Little Sisters of the Poor, who began their activity last Saturday.
On the other hand, in October another twenty students of the UCAM in Cartagena also collaborated as volunteers in the solidarity marches of Hispanidad in favor of the Cystic Fibrosis Association and the Ostomized Association.
In addition, in the second four-month period, another volunteer training workshop will be held, which will swell the team of university students who will collaborate during this course with entities from the Cartagena social sphere.
