This Thursday, October 24, at 8:00 p.m. in the Josefina Soria del Luzzy library, José Luis Fernández Casadevante "Kois" will present the book 'Moving Cities: Advances and contradictions of municipalist policies in the face of eco-social transitions' (Fuhem Editorial , 2018), event included in the line of Thinking the Ecosocial Transition of Cartagena Piensa.
It will be presented by Cayetano Gutiérrez, a member of the Cartagena Piensa promoter group.
Written in co-authorship by José Luis Fernández Casadevante with Nerea Ponce and Fernando Prats, the book analyzes more than two hundred municipalist policies in seven cities, offering a rigorous balance of their impact from the perspective of eco-social transitions.
A work that systematizes the transformations that are happening in the political agendas, procedures, alliances, conflicts, stories ... showing the advances in social issues and citizen participation, as well as weaknesses in key ecological issues.
A way to value positive changes and draw attention to the delayed ecosocial agenda, so that political decision makers, technical staff and citizens are aware of the transformations that remain pending, whether to star or suffer them.
José Luis Fernández Casadevante, “Kois†is a sociologist, an international expert in food sovereignty by UNIA.
Member of the GARÚA associate work cooperative since 2009 dedicated to promoting research, projects and training processes related to social ecology.
He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal 'Papers of Ecosocial Relations and Global Change'.
