The volunteer group belonging to the municipal strategy 'Cartagena Free of Rumors' participated this Saturday, October 19 in the Interasociativo Meeting, promoted by the Youth Department of the City of Cartagena, in which numerous youth associations in Cartagena participated.
The volunteer group 'Cartagena Free of Rumors' located in one of the booths a 'Point Anti-rumors' in order to publicize the program, as well as collect the opinion of people who approached about the rumors and stereotypes that circulate in Cartagena on people of foreign origin.
To do this, information was distributed, surveys, expression murals and activities aimed at children such as the realization of a giant puzzle or face painting were carried out.
This position was attended by the Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón and the Councilor for the area of ​​Culture, Youth and Equality, David Martínez.
Cartagena Free of Rumors arises in March 2017 in Cartagena as a commitment to work in the municipality to improve coexistence and social cohesion, identifying those elements that block it, among which the false rumors circulating about people of origin abroad, a consequence of stereotypes and prejudices that only distort the image of people who come from other countries and live in our municipality.
