The young Cartagena were the protagonists this past weekend in 'Cartagena, month of fairs', which has been held since October 4 with stands located on the promenade next to the Heroes de Cavite square, with the Meeting of Youth Associations and the Artisan Market, in the hands of the Department of Youth of the City of Cartagena.
This day was attended by the Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, the Councilor for the area of ​​Culture, Youth and Equality, David Martínez and the Councilor Delegate for Sustainable City and European Projects, Cristina Mora.
A total of 50 Youth Associations and service providers of the municipality -Gaia Cultural, Jugando Entre Todos, Carthalistenia, Formula Student of the UPCT, among others- had their representation throughout the day on Saturday with a meeting in which they offered around 60 activities such as music, capoeira, dance, calisthenics, games and varied workshops.
A parade at the hand of the Tambores Quillo Youth Association entertained the main streets of the old town, ending at the main esplanade of the Associative Fair.
DJ Alex Cela and the Millennials dance group closed this intense participatory day.
On the other hand, 43 young artisans of the municipality had their opportunity this Sunday to show their work in the traditional market in the same scenario in which handmade objects were put up for sale.
The objects that were shown and put on sale were: hand-painted t-shirts and scarves, designer jewelry in sterling silver, jewelry made with different materials and techniques, illustrations, bags made with fabrics, wicker or skin, soaps and creams Handcrafted, objects made with recycled elements and materials, jewelery with leather and alpaca, decorations with macramé, amirigumi and rubber eva, aromatic ecological candles, hand-painted tiles, key chains and brooches, floral designs or costume jewelery made from minerals and semiprecious stones.
During the weekend, the Department of Youth had an informative stand of the various programs that are developed there, as well as a specific one of European Mobility and the Eurodesk office, the Implica2 program, young people involved and the Subjective Room of Young creators, where 6 young people showed their works exhibited in this room.
The final touch to the month of October will put 'Femadis 19', organized by the Department of Social Services, through the Unit of Older Persons and Persons with Disabilities.
It will be on October 25, 26 and 27.
