Carolina Díaz-García and Bryan Maxwell, from the Chair of Sustainable Agriculture FECOAM-COAG-UPCT, have won the first ex aequo prize in oral communication format at the II Congress of young researchers in agri-food sciences in Almeria for their presentations on bioreactors Denitrifiers with wood chips.
The doctoral student Carolina Díaz-García, hired by the University through the Wastewater Sanitation and Purification Entity of the Region (Esamur), has presented a communication on “Elimination of nitrates in brines from eviction through bioreactors in the field of Cartagena. "
Bryan Maxwell's communication, which comes from North Carolina University and is conducting a postdoctoral stay at the Chair, addresses "The longer duration of the drying-rewetting cycles increases the elimination of nitrate in bioreactors."
The communication of the doctoral student of the interuniversity program in Economic, Business and Legal Sciences, José Ángel Zabala García, “Economic valuation of the ecosystem services and services of agriculture†was also awarded.
The congress, held yesterday at the University of Almeria, involved more than 300 young researchers.
