The 'UPCT-Ingeniosanos: very real dreams' program has started its third edition today with the first workshop of the 2019/20 course:' MUS.
The game of sustainable urban mobility '.
In this activity, directed by the professors of the Higher Technical School of Architecture and Building Fernando Miguel García Martín and Marcos Ros Sempere, young patients face the challenge of improving the mobility of a city through a board game on a large board that represents the current configuration of public and urban space (with the building, the free spaces and the road).
Participating students acquire knowledge about sustainable urban mobility while the game is taking place, but the game also includes situations in which decisions must be taken that will affect the successful outcome of the game.
During this course, different activities aimed at short-term income will be part of the UPCT-Ingeniosanos programming;
the scientific carnival organized by the Hospital Classrooms of the Region of Murcia and in which a technology and exhibition fair is held;
as well as two workshops focused on medium and long-term income in which they can learn, on the one hand, to develop video games and, on the other hand, to design an immersive virtual environment and in which there will be demonstrations and experiences of virtual reality with Oculus Rift glasses.
UPCT-Ingeniosanos is an educational program that arises in 2016 and is intended for children and adolescents in a situation of illness whose objective is to approach, present, interact and build with science and technology in the hospital classrooms of the Hospital Educational Attention Team and Domiciliary of the Region of Murcia.
It is an initiative of the Scientific and Innovation Culture Unit of the UPCT that has the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology - Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
