The 18 students who are members of the Socio-Health Care Course for dependents in social institutions carried out by the Local Development and Employment Agency of the City of Cartagena and co-financed by the Regional Employment and Training Service have received their diplomas after Tuesday, October 16, complete the theoretical teaching part.
The Councilor for Employment and Education, Irene Ruiz, has attended this closing ceremony at the Training Center of the agency in Canteras, accompanied by its manager, Fulgencio Cerón, and the teachers of the course.
"The course began on June 3 of this year with a total of 370 hours of theoretical and practical training," says the mayor, "now 80 hours of non-work practices will be carried out in centers of care for the dependency of the region and, after finishing, they will obtain the Certificate of Professionalism to enter the labor market of this field ".
Throughout the course, different visits have been made for the training, where the students will carry out the internships, in the facilities of Prolam (Day center and special employment center), belonging to the Astus Association (Guardianship Association of the person with disabilities), Apices (Association for Community Integration of Psychic Patients in Cartagena), "La Resi" (Residence for people with intellectual disabilities and cerebral palsy of Astus), Casa de Campo Residential, The Little Sisters of the Poor or Los Los Residence Almond trees
The visits were aimed at observing the type of services offered to users, as well as the organization and work dynamics;
know the equipment that the centers have;
Observe the work methodology, the techniques and strategies of action with the users and know the professional disciplines that make up the work teams of each center, in order to be able to opt professionally to be part of this team.
The Agency of Local Development and Employment has been carrying out in different modalities of courses and Mixed Programs of Employment and Training, the specialty of Social and Health Care since 2006 due to the high demand for them and the great employability that it is producing.
