Cartagena joins the celebration of the International Day of Rural Women.
It is in the IV Conference on Women, held in Beijing in 1995, when the United Nations General Assembly decided to establish October 15 as World Rural Women's Day.
Rural women are recognized worldwide for their work in food production as farmers, ranchers or traders, so it was decided to celebrate this event, one day before World Food Day.
The Councilor for Equality of the City of Cartagena, David Martínez, celebrated this day on Tuesday with many rural women in the municipality.
The meeting took place at the Local Social Quarry.
In this meeting, dozens of women from the associations of San José Obrero, Las Lomas de La Vaguada, Tallante, Cuesta Blanca, San Isidro, Los Puertos de Santa Bárbara, El Rincón de Sumiedo, El Portús, Galifa, Perín and Quarries
