The works, awarded for an amount of almost 960,000 euros (VAT included), include the construction of a new platform of approximately 486 m for double track on the current line, in the accesses to the station
Adif Alta Speed ​​(Adif AV) has awarded the works contract for the construction project for section I of the Railway Arterial Network (RAF) of Cartagena.
The contract has been awarded for an amount of 959,059.31 euros (VAT included) to the company Pavasal Empresa Constructora and has an estimated execution period of 8 months.
The object of the work is the construction of a new platform for high speed double track on the current line, located at the access to the Cartagena station, specifically from kilometer 518/350 to 518/836.
Description of the works
The works will consist of the extension of the existing platform to have a double track of standard width (1,435 mm) taking advantage of the current layout.
They will be carried out maintaining the rail traffic by the current route.
They include drainage elements, conditions on the current road, replacement of services, easements, enclosures, pipelines, environmental integration and everything necessary to proceed in a next phase to the assembly of the track, its signaling and electrification.
The location of this expansion of the platform has as a fundamental premise to minimize the effects in urbanized areas and to initiate subsequent actions for the definitive integration of the RAF of Cartagena in the high-performance network.
