The Department of Public Road began in September a plan to improve road signs in the neighborhoods of the municipality of Cartagena, which is scheduled to be completed in the coming weeks.
Thus, throughout the past month the horizontal signage has been painted in areas such as the Loma de Canteras, La Vaguada, San José Obrero, Nueva Cartagena, Media Sala and Mediterranean Urbanization.
“Many of the streets and highways of the municipality accused considerable damage in their horizontal signage due, among other things, to the volume of traffic they support every day and even to the torrential rains that we suffered recently.
The objective of this new plan is to improve traffic management and provide greater security for both pedestrians and drivers, â€said the area councilor, Juan Pedro Torralba.
In fact, during this month of October it will be painted in San Antón, Barriada Cuatro Santos, Barrio Peral, José Maria Lapuerta from the roundabout of the San Vicente de Paul school through Jorge Juan, Ángel Bruna from Reina Victoria Avenue to Mandarache, Víctor Beltrí avenue to the Las Tejeras roundabout, as well as the San Antón cemetery road, from the roundabout of 1900 to Barriada Hispanoamerica.
This plan is part of a biannual program whereby the City Council of Cartagena will have invested a total of 700,000 euros in 2020, of which 350,000 correspond to 2019.
