The Health and Social Policy Commission of the Regional Assembly has unanimously approved an initiative of the Popular Parliamentary Group to promote the transfer of the old health center of San Antón to socio-sanitary entities of the region, once the new equipment built by the Ministry of Health.
Antonio Calderón, defender of the motion, has highlighted "the great work that these entities carry out in the region" and "the possibility that they can carry out their activities in more appropriate units", more specifically in the health center building when be disaffected

"Socio-health associations such as AFAL, Alzheimer's Association and other neurodegenerative pathologies, Parquinson Association, etc., which currently serve about 600 patients, perform an extraordinary job", which, as highlighted by the regional deputy of the PP, "no It is limited only to the support and advice, which are undoubtedly essential to cope with neurodegenerative diseases, but also to provide non-pharmacological therapies (physiotherapy, speech therapy, cognitive stimulation ...), so important for the slowdown of these diseases and the maintenance of the capacities that are going away. losing progressively. "In addition," said Calderón, "they are an essential support for one of the main actors in all these processes, such as caregivers, who also attend courses, sessions and group therapies that help raise awareness about the importance of care for the caregiver. "
For the 'popular' parliamentarian, all this wide package of benefits "requires having adequate and well-adapted facilities, where patients receive good care and professionals can perform work in the best conditions", since "the increase in the prevalence of these diseases has meant that the spaces they use have remained very small with the negative consequences that this entails. "That is why," Calderón concluded, "that the release of the old facilities of the Health Center is a great opportunity for these entities to benefit from a new space to develop their excellent work more efficiently."
The initiative of the Popular Parliamentary Group, which has been approved unanimously, has incorporated partial amendments of PSOE and Vox.
