The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has invited the Cartagena and Cartagena to decorate their balconies with flags of Spain and Spanish-speaking countries, on the occasion of the celebration of the next weekend of the National Party, instituted by the Government of Spain in 1987.
Through a side, Castejón recalls that on October 12 "the Spaniards will celebrate our National Holiday, coinciding with one of the most relevant moments of our collective history: the Discovery of America. An ephemeris in which Spain, about to conclude the process of building the State from its cultural and political plurality and the integration of the Kingdoms of Spain in the same Monarchy, it began an extraordinary period of linguistic and cultural projection beyond the European limits. ”
The mayor encourages the Cartagena "to celebrate this shared feeling and participate in its enhancement and solemnity, adorning your balconies and windows with Spanish flags and the sister nations of Latin America, that so many benefits have brought us to our city with their work and effort . ”
Finally, it encourages them to attend as many acts and activities as they organize for this reason.
“Very especially the tribute to the National Flag, which promoted by the City of Cartagena in collaboration with our beloved Armed Forces, will take place on Friday, October 11 from 7 p.m. on the esplanade of the Heroes of Cavite and Santiago de Cuba , at the Alfonso XII Pier. ”
From the City Hall, the decking was also arranged during those days of the main balcony of the City Hall, with bakers and hoisting on the masts respecting national flags.
