The athletics of Cartagena and the Region of Murcia was represented this weekend the Spanish Championship of Sub16 Clubs by the UCAM Cartagena Athletics Club.
The departmentals attended the championship supported by the affiliated clubs of Torre Pacheco, Mazarrón, Alhama, Yecla and Alcantarilla among others "that make the team stronger and extend their arms in the Region" as Patricia Paz, technical director of the Club of the trillenary says
The results have been historic with a 4th place of the men's team that competed in the magnificent and refurbished facilities of the Gaeta Huget athletics stadium behind the Madrid Marathon champion team, Nerja de Málaga and Playas de Castellón, and ahead of Ciudad from Lugones, Valencia, Manresa and Pamplona.
The girls made an excellent third place in their phase in Madrid (in the incredible stadium of Vallhermoso, in the heart of the city) and 12th overall but with a score higher than the previous two years.
In the men's team Manuel Carrasco (athlete from Torre Pacheco) competed in the hammer, which was 7th (34.33), on the 6th record (35.58) for Adrian Alcón (from Alhama), 6th (5.57) also for Josemi Noguera, 3rd in 300 fences (42.40) for Pablo Polan (of Nutriban Alcantarilla), 6th in 100 (12.38) for Diego Gonzalez, 2nd in 600 Simón Guasp (1.27.79), 5th in Pértiga (3.50) Juanmi Conesa (of Nutriban Alcantarilla), 4th in Weight (11.77, best personal brand) Daniel López, 7th in triple jump (11.48, best personal brand) Alejandro Sánchez Martínez, 2nd in 100 hurdles (14.55 to one hundredth of his best brand) Cayetano Ureña , Victory for the Yeclano Cristian Villaplana in Height (1.85), 7th in 3000 (10.3327) for Eduardo Font, 8th Pablo Tonda in the 5 kilometers march (30.02.94), 8th also Rafael Toledo in Jabalina (32.79), Victories for Adrián Díaz in 1000 (2.53.95) and Pedro Paredes in 1500 obstacles (4.52.05) and second places for the 4x100 Relay (45.97) Noguera-Ureña-

The technicians Joseda Martínez, Gabi Lorente and Alfredo Castilla were at all times attending to the young talents of the UCAM Cartagena team, being very happy with the attitude of companionship and effort of these young promises.
