The former president of the El Plan neighborhood association and died in 1990, Isabel Hernández Navarro, already has her place in the neighborhood.
The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, along with relatives of the honoree, colleagues from the Municipal Corporation, neighbors and friends participated today Saturday October 5 in the act of discovery of the plaque that gives its name to the public space recoleto with children's games next to the social premises.
The nomination of this place was agreed in the plenary of last July 26, culminating the corresponding file of Honors and Municipal Distinctions, which the neighbors themselves had promoted.
Next to the mayor were the three children of "Isabelita".
Also the councilors, Diego Ortega, Juan Pedro Torralba, Irene Ruiz, Alejandra Gutiérrez, Maria José Soler, Enrique Pérez Abellán and Pilar González.
In her intervention, the mayor stressed that after 29 years have passed since her death, the neighbors have remembered her, which demonstrates the deep mark that her selfless work left on her neighbors.
After reading the agreement and the discovery of the plaque, Isabel García, the oldest granddaughter, has pronounced words that have moved all the attendees.
