Local Police of Cartagena recalls that the Road Safety Law and the General Traffic Regulations set the regulations applicable to generic and specific limits of speed, speed in overtaking and distances between vehicles.

Failure to comply with these rules is classified as a serious or very serious infraction, sanctioned with fines of 100 to 600 euros.

Article 379 of the Criminal Code establishes that “whoever drives a motor vehicle or a moped at a speed greater than sixty kilometers per hour on urban roads or eighty kilometers per hour on long-distance roads as permitted by regulation, shall be punished with the penalty from three to six months 'imprisonment or six to twelve months' fine and work for the benefit of the community from thirty-one to ninety days, and, in any case, the deprivation of the right to drive motor vehicles and mopeds for more than one and up to four years. ”
