The delegate of the Government in Murcia, Francisco Jiménez, has held a meeting this afternoon with the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, in which she has informed of the needs presented by the municipality, whose execution requires state intervention.
Among them, he has expressed interest in the actions required after the floods, as well as in the processing of the AVE works in Cartagena, in accordance with the commitment acquired by its president, Isabel Pardo, as well as by various projects signed through agreement with the Ministry of Development, such as the restoration of the RENFE station, the first phase of the restoration of the Roman Amphitheater or the restoration of the Old Cathedral.
For his part, Francisco Jiménez recalled that the Government of Spain is in office, which does not prevent that in accordance with the commitments made with the previous delegate, Diego Conesa, these projects are processed and completed with complete transparency so that the neighbors and neighbors of Cartagena can enjoy new works and services as soon as possible.
He has also expressed the urgency that the City Council make available to the Ministry of Interior the land for the location of the new Civil Guard headquarters.
Both have recalled the commitment of the City of Cartagena to acquire as soon as possible the land for the location of the future City of Justice, so that the Ministry can begin as soon as possible the necessary procedures for its construction.
