In October, 'Cartagena, fair month', with this motto the City Council of Cartagena presents the different fairs and meetings that will be held this month by the stands located in the Plaza de los Héroes de Cavite.
The first of them, the Women's Associations Fair will open its doors this Friday, October 4 and can be visited until the 6th. Then, this space will be shared by the X Fair Outlet, from October 9 to 13;
the Meeting of Youth Associations, on the 19th and the next day, the Artisan Market will take place;
and finally, this space will occupy the Fair of Resources and Services for Seniors and Persons with Disabilities 'Femadis' that will take place on the weekend of 25 to 27 of the same month.
To offer the details of the different fairs and meetings this year have appeared, this Monday, September 30, the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, the second deputy mayor and councilor of the area of ​​Tourism, Commerce, Health and Consumer Affairs, Manuel Padín and the Councilor Delegate of the Social Services area, Mercedes García.
The Women's Associations Fair, which will take place from October 4 to 6, is promoted by the Department of Equality and will have 47 women's associations that will show the work they do in our municipality.
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, explained that the main objective of this fair is "to boost the female associative fabric and encourage young people to join the associative movement."
In addition, activities such as storytelling, theater or the music circle will be offered during this weekend.
The next event to settle in the square will be the X Fair Outlet 2019, organized by the Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Port Authority and the Association of Merchants.
In this fair, the traditional commerce of Cartagena will be the protagonist from next Wednesday, October 9, where the possibility of finding good shopping opportunities in a wide range of products with discounts for customers will be offered.
This will remain open until next Sunday, October 13.
Ana Belén Castejón has affirmed that this fair will mainly emphasize “the traditional small shops of Cartagena”.
Young people will also have their representation this month with the Youth Associations Meeting on Saturday 19. 40 youth groups will take the street to offer 60 activities such as music, capoeira, dance, calisthenics, games and varied workshops.
This fair is organized by the Department of Youth.
Cartagena is the municipality of the Region with the greatest youth associative movement, so the mayor of Cartagena has indicated that this meeting is a must for young people because they are "the present and with which we must design the future."
On Sunday 20th the young artisans of the municipality will show their work in the traditional Mercadillo, where they will put on sale handmade objects, such as jewelry, clothes, purses, decorative objects, soaps and natural cosmetics, prints, paintings or aromatic candles.
The final touch to the month of October will put 'Femadis 19' organized by the Department of Social Services, through the Unit of Older Persons and Persons with Disabilities.
It will take place on October 25, 26 and 27.
In this tenth edition of the Fair, both public and private institutions will participate, as well as associations of elderly and disabled people, which show their services and resources, aimed at improving the quality of life of these groups, with a total of 47 stands.
On this occasion there are more than twenty companies that have joined and, among them will be day centers, home help, family respite companies, hearing centers, technical aids, socio-sanitary services, neurorehabilitation centers or residences.
Castejón has concluded detailing the news of the Fair of Resources and Services for Seniors and People with Disabilities such as “yoga, live workshops, demonstrations of traditional crafts, performances of rondallas, intergenerational activities, blood pressure and blood glucose measurements, hearing measurements and campaigns of sensitization, such as organ transplants ”.
