On the occasion of the European Mobility Week held recently, the deputy spokesman of MC Cartagena, Jesús Giménez, has taken stock of municipal policy in this area, noting that "it has been two years since Juan Pedro Torralba (PSOE) was put in front of mobility in the municipality and the result is stillness. "
"The European Mobility Week portrays it. Neither a novel measure nor a concrete proposal."
"He has turned his back on the groups and the actions. Surely, if he had not warned him in July, Cartagena would not have participated. And, the truth, for what he has done ...", he reflected.
The Cartagena leader has continued his speech announcing that, during the next plenary session, his training will defend a battery of initiatives on different issues of interest related to mobility.
"We will demand that they announce their proposals for the bus station or that the services that we pay for the Cartagena people recover but tender the Autonomous Community. In the case of not having initiatives, that apply those of MC, because their delay burdens us," he said Jesus Gimenez.
Next, the cartagenerista leader has argued that "the three lines of improvements that we propose would suppose an enormous social impact and an assumable cost. The extension of the frequencies of line 7 (Los Dolores Polígono Santa Ana); guarantee that line 6 ( Molinos Marfagones) reaches up to Buenos Aires residential in all its services and that line 5 (Gabatos-La Vaguada) increases its frequency, also taking into account the need generated by the UCAM campus ".
Giménez concluded by saying that "we hope they support and apply them, although Councilor Torralba has earned the nickname 'sedentary', because he has not moved a role, much less a foot, to work for sustainable mobility."
MC promotes mobility policies in the municipality
The Cartagena formation will defend a series of initiatives that confirm the leadership of MC in the promotion of mobility policies.
On the one hand, to optimize the frequency of passage of lines 5 and 7, in addition to the establishment of new completion of the itinerary of line 6, moving from the Marfagones Mills to the Urbanization Buenos Aires.
On the other hand, MC advocates to recover competition in urban traffic included in the regional concessions, Cartagena Puerto Lumbreras;
Cartagena Galifa (with extension to El Portús), and Cartagena and Comarca.
In this way, the City Council would take control of all the lines that pass through the municipality.
Thus, it would be feasible to carry out coordinated and effective actions in the area of mobility, without the express authorization of the Autonomous Community being necessary.
Finally, Jesús Giménez has reported on the MC initiative so that the local government will promote the correct management of the Cartagena Bus Station building as soon as possible and thus start building the value of the building.
In this sense, the concession of the total of the property will be proposed or bet on the MC project for the tender of the ground floor and allocate the top part of the site for cultural and social uses.
