Along these lines, Isabel Franco thanked the Red Cross for the follow-up of foster families for children who at any given time are left without parental or maternal custody "so that minors can have a stable family environment and supporters to increase the aid that is currently dedicated to foster care. "
The Community currently has several foster care programs such as the Family Emergency and Diagnostic Shelter, known as the 'Kangaroo' program, which manages the temporary reception of 16 children up to six years old and another 10 children over six years of age in a family of reception.
The vice president pledged to support the programs developed by the Red Cross through which training and follow-up of foster families is given.
Throughout this year, the Community has financed 28 social projects focused on children worth about 2 million euros.
Of these, 453,000 euros go to the Red Cross to monitor children in foster care.
Another 165,500 euros are for temporary foster care for children over 6 years old;
177,000 are for kangaroo families that welcome babies from 0 to 6 years old and 1.2 million are used to pay families.
In total they are 1,995,604 euros for foster care.
