The UPCT Drone Team has released its participation in racing competitions this past weekend.
Students of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena participated in Valladolid in a national championship.
"It has cost a lot to get here, but we have achieved it thanks to the support of the University to acquire racing drones and in our first test we have learned a lot," explains student Sergio García.
"There was a very high level, including members of the Spanish drone team, but they have been very generous teaching us and we have acquired an impressive experience," adds the spokesman for the team, which aims to participate in a national league of racing drones.
The UPCT Drone Team came with three drones to the test, which not only implies driving skills through first-person vision goggles, but also electronic skills to repair and weld spare parts after the drones suffer when they fail to overcome obstacles that are marking the circuit of the races, in which the drones reach speeds of up to 150 kilometers per hour.
