The Alfonso XII Dock welcomed the departure of more than 200 paddlers from the Real Club Regatas Cartagena, Los Nietos, Pinatar, Mar Menor, Torrevieja and Santa Lucía.
This activity, which was the first activity of the Carthaginian and Roman celebrations, declared of International Tourist Interest in 2017, was assisted by the Vice Mayor of Cartagena and Councilor for Sports, Noelia Arroyo.
The peculiarity of this regatta, which has the collaboration of the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena and Onda Cero Cartagena, is that the paddlers, placed on the sides of the boat, are rowing in a narrow canoe with a tail and dragon head .
The Dragon Boat is of Asian origin.
After the race, there was a gastronomic tasting in the Esplanade of the Port of Cartagena, typical products and a special menu of Carthaginians and Romans that Los Habaneros will offer during the holiday.

The swimmers left from the Real Club de Regatas to a scoring test for the Open Water Circuit of the Region of Murcia, being their last event.
The winners were Pedro Sánchez, from the CN Tenis Elche, who traveled the 1,600 meters in 21 minutes and 17 seconds, and Diana Serantes, from the Marina Cartagena, with a mark of 23 minutes and 8 seconds.
