The Department of Infrastructures of the City Council of Cartagena, directed by María Casajús, has announced that this Friday, September 20, Gisbert Street will be opened to road traffic, which has been cut after the rockfalls that occurred last Saturday for the episode cold drop
Casajús has informed that the Department's staff ends Thursday the first cleaning and sanitation work for the consolidation of the hillside of Cerro de la Concepción.
"Yesterday, a containment mesh was started to retain possible rockfalls from the hillside, which guarantees the safety of pedestrians and vehicles that circulate on Gisbert Street."
In total 1,370 tons of rocks have been removed.
Now, according to the mayor, the Department is working on a project to place a special permanent protection mesh that will be installed on the hillside, through specialized companies.
The councilor stressed that these works have been executed as a matter of urgency within the actions that the municipal government is developing in the municipality of Cartagena to return to normal as soon as possible after the cold drop.
