After last year's interventions, the Violet Point is consolidated during the celebration of Carthaginians and Romans, which will begin this Friday, September 20 through September 29, with an independent booth in this edition, located next to the Local Police booths and security forces at the entrance to the festive grounds along with directions throughout the camp to their post.

It was this Wednesday, September 18, when the Councilor for Equality, David Martínez, has presented all the details together with the president of the Federation of Troops and Legions of Carthaginians and Romans, José Antonio Meca, of this action that is collected within the I Municipal Plan Against Gender Violence, in the campaign of 'Prevention and Action against Sexual Assault'.

In the Violet Point, information and guidance will be provided in order to prevent this type of aggression, “it is about raising awareness and making visible the social commitment in leisure spaces,� clarifies the councilor.

In the event that there are possible victims, the staff will channel the first attention and help towards them, also informing them of the resources and actions available.

The latter will be composed of specialized professionals coordinated with the forces and bodies of State security, Civil Protection and security companies, as well as volunteers and leaders of Troops and Legions that this year around 50 of them have received previous training, facing to attend these cases given by the professionals of the CAVI service (Center for Attention to Victims of Gender Violence) belonging to the Department of Equality.

“For the attention to the possible victims, the 'Protocol of action against sexual aggressions' will be deployed, which has been underway since last August,â€� confirms David Martínez, “the aim is to give the victim the first help and feel accompanied "

As a preventive measure, greater lighting has also been managed from the City Council at certain points near the camp, also at the request of the Federation of Troops and Legions, as well as the installation of this Violet Point in the premises of the Amstel Fest concert to be held on the 26th.

Last year there were a total of eleven non-serious interventions valued by the staff of the Point, of which one ended up denouncing and arresting the aggressor.
