Local police officers have proceeded late this afternoon to cut off the passage of vehicles and pedestrians in Gisbert Street in the center of Cartagena, as a result of the continuous rockfalls that are occurring after the cold drop episode.
The landslides have been recorded on the slope of the hill of the Conception between the entrances of the old shelters and the panoramic elevator.
The pieces of rock have been retained by a mesh that could yield to the large amount of stones that already accumulates.
Technicians of the Cocejalía de Infraestructuras directed by María Casajús have carried out a technical inspection this afternoon and, given the danger it represented, they have advised the eviction of the vehicles parked on both sides of the road and the total closure of the street.
In this way, it will not be possible to travel through this route, with the exception of vehicles that have a garage in the area, which must enter and exit through Duque Street, and pedestrians, residents of the street, who will only be allowed Access and exit to their homes.
Repair works will be urgent.
The Department of Infrastructure plans to perform the first work tomorrow Sunday.
