Cartagena City Council has been working since Friday to return normality as quickly as possible to the areas and populations that have been most affected by the passage of the cold drop during the early morning.
The actions have focused on the coastal zone, west zone and urban area and they have used personnel and machinery of the City Council and the concessionaires Lhicarsa, FCC and Hidrogea, which depend on the Councilors of Infrastructure and Services, María Casajús and Juan Pedro Torralba.
Thus, in the coastal zone, intensive work has been carried out simultaneously: in Mar de Cristal and Playa Honda with two vats, a shovel and a sweeper;
in Los Nietos, with three shovels and truck, and an additional shovel and truck for the opening of roads;
and in Los Urrutias, with a sweeper on a truck, shovel and truck.
Today, Saturday is still working from early hours in the coastal area, in Los Urrutias, Los Nietos, Playa Honda, Mar de cristal and El Algar, with six shovels, a tractor, several sweepers and two buckets.
An extraordinary service of collection of goods throughout the affected area has also been arranged, mainly in Los Nietos.
On the other hand, in the west zone, the work has focused on repairing the areas of passage to isolated nuclei through the channels of the ramblas.
This has worked in the Corner of Sumiedo and La Aljorra with two teams of trucks and shovels;
and on the Rambla del Esparrillar, with a tractor.
Work will continue on Saturday in the west with more means, specifically, three shovels, three trucks and a tractor.
Finally, in the Urban Center of Cartagena, two truck and shovel equipment have been used to clear the area of ​​Peroniño Street, access to the city and the area of ​​the Cartagonova Stadium.
Gardening equipment has also been arranged for both Cartagena and the coastal area.
