The emergency coordination commission of the City Council of Cartagena has met tonight to finalize the details of this morning's operation that is expected to be complicated, especially between three and five in the morning, which is when the rains are expected to occur more intense and persistent in the municipality of Cartagena.
The meeting has been chaired by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and she has attended the councilors with responsibility in the services involved, such as the vice mayor and councilor for Social Welfare, Noelia Arroyo, the councilors of Public Safety, Juan Pedro Torralba, Infrastructure , María Casajús and Sports, Diego Ortega, together with the heads of services and representatives of concessionary companies.
During the meeting, the rain forecasts and the different scenarios and the measures to be taken should be evaluated in the event that evictions of houses in flood areas are necessary, together with the channels of the waterways.
Given the situation, the population has been recommended again to stay in their homes and avoid any type of travel by car that is not strictly necessary.
Also, always observe due caution, never crossing flood areas and away from runways and runoff.
