The City of Cartagena, through the Department of Public Safety led by Juan Pedro Torralba, will invest 700 thousand euros over the next two years to improve the horizontal and vertical signage of the city's municipal roads, neighborhoods and districts.
The contract began to be executed last July and during the next 24 months, until July 2021, it is expected to act and meet the needs that regarding road safety are raised throughout the municipality, as reported by Torralba.
In fact, at this time roads have already been marked, painted pedestrian crossings and placed new traffic signs in San Felix, Los Barreros, Cuatro Santos Neighborhood, Latin America, Los Urrutias and Barrio de la Concepción.
Currently these tasks are carried out in the Garden City area and soon the repainting of the entire Children's Traffic Park will be undertaken and the replacement of its vertical signage, before the start of the activities, scheduled for October 9.
NIGHT WORK
The main novelty of this contract is that the execution of the work is usually done at night, after 23 hours.
This avoids inconvenience to the citizens, since its effects on the limited traffic that are at that time are limited, while allowing greater speed in the painting of the signs.
