Cartagena becomes a great sport party this Saturday, September 7 with the CaixaBank 3x3 Plaza Basketball Tournament.
A sporting event, organized by the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena, in collaboration with the Basketball Federation of the Region of Murcia, the Spanish Basketball Federation, Women's Basketball Universe and CaixaBank itself, which will take place from 10 to 10 18 hours, in the Town Hall Square.
The presentation of this sporting event took place on the morning of September 4 and was attended by the Vice Mayor and Councilor for Sports, Noelia Arroyo, the president of the Basketball Federation of the Region of Murcia, Juan Carlos Hernández, the head of the Business area of ​​CaixaBank, Susana Ruíz and numerous presidents and directors of Cartagena's basketball clubs.
The vice mayor, Noelia Arroyo, said that "basketball is a very popular and well-liked sport in Cartagena, where around 2,000 people practice it."
In the Plaza 3x3 Basketball Tournament CaixaBank, according to the president of the Basketball Federation of the Region of Murcia, Juan Carlos Hernández, “teams of 4 players will participate, which will take turns playing different games of 3 players against 3 players and win the one that reaches 21 points or the one with the highest score in a period of time ”.

This tournament will have three tracks: the CaixaBank track, where a multitude of competitions related to this sports discipline will be held and in which the participants can obtain numerous prizes;
the CaixaBankse track, where the championship finals will be held, both in the women's and men's category;
and the Universo Mujer track, where the women's category matches will be played and different competitions will be held.
Although the event will revolve around the free tournament and open to the public of the different categories, from pre mini to senior, both male and female, there will be activities for all audiences such as the installation of inflatables, games or the visit of the former Spanish basketball player and winner of a silver medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, Fernando Romay.
