A total of 25 components of the Comparsa Salgueiro de Cartagena paraded last weekend, on August 24 and 25, at La Fiesta de las Flores in the French town of Bagnères de Luchon, which celebrated its 120th anniversary this year.
The city, belonging to the Occitania region, celebrates this holiday every year where more than 50 thousand flowers such as roses and daisies are cut from the fields of Luchon and neighboring towns to decorate streets and floats in the four days of the festival.
The two big parades were held on Saturday and Sunday with local troupes together with guest countries, where Comparsa Salgeiro took the color and rhythm of the Cartagena carnival, a party awarded with the title of Regional Tourist Interest, in the neighboring country with choreographies by its streets and on its stages.
Upon leaving their trip they were fired by the Councilor for the Culture Area, David Martínez, who wished them luck and showed them their pride by being invited to this great holiday.
The troupe, of which 85 members are already part, has again won the title of Queen of Carnival with its member Lara Valero and the fantasy 'Aura'.
Title that has won eleven consecutive years of the fourteen that have been participating in Cartagena and, this year, have led to France.
