On August 16 and 17, the esplanade of the Cabo de Palos Lighthouse hosted the third edition of the 'Cabodepop' festival.
A cultural initiative that promotes music, leisure and sports in the area, in a unique environment and enclave of the Mediterranean, organized by the tourism company Planout and the collaboration of the City Council of Cartagena.
This year, more than 3,000 attendees were able to enjoy 13 free concerts, in addition to the possibility
to participate in sports activities (snorkeling, diving, kayaking, paddle surfing, light sailing) at cost, which were sold out days before the festival began.
This edition made a big commitment to emerging local groups and members with a female majority, such as Las WONDER, Yana Zafiro or Pájara Rey.
In addition, it also had groups of great recognition such as Future Terror, FAVX or the Manises.
This year a great emphasis was placed on the protection, care and conservation of the environment.
The organization opted for reusable plastic cups, in addition to the start-up of beach cleaning days, which are still valid to date.
The beach cleaning on the surface, which was carried out on August 11, welcomed more than thirty volunteers who collected 14.3 kilos of garbage.
At the beginning of September, a seabed cleaning will be carried out, which also aims to congregate a large number of people.
