The Ticbiomed association and the UPCT reinforce their commitment to digital health as a pole for generating future jobs (16/08/2019)

Digital health companies see UPCT as a key actor in the challenge of training students for jobs that do not even exist yet.

The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) and the cluster of Ticbiomed digital health companies reinforce their collaboration with the aim of preparing students in the Region of Murcia for the digital transformation that society and the labor market is currently experiencing.

The field of health is living a "real revolution with the advent of technology and this has only just begun," says Aquilino Garcia, president of Ticbiomed.

"The experts in data mining, in Artificial Intelligence or in cybersecurity will have a leading role in the health sector. From Ticbiomed and the UPCT we want students to be aware of the potential and take advantage of it, far from fearing for their future" .

The UPCT, in its role as Ticbiomed's protective partner, keeps its commitment to digital health active by listening to the challenges that companies in the sector face when looking for qualified professionals for digitalization.

"The fluid relationship between universities and companies is vital for the future both business and employment. It is fortunate that in the Region of Murcia we have a training center as innovative as the UPCT," says García.

The Rector, Alejandro Díaz Morcillo, said that the UPCT tries to respond to the challenges facing companies in the sector and train qualified professionals for digitalization.

Jobs of the future according to the World Economic Forum

The potential of new technologies translates into the creation of 133 million jobs by 2022, as reflected in the report 'The future of work' published by the World Economic Forum (EMF) in 2018.

The 10 most sought-after profiles will be data analysts and scientists, specialists in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, general and operational managers, software and application developers and analysts, sales and marketing professionals, specialists in Big Data, specialists in digital transformation, specialists in new technologies, specialists in organizational development and information technology services.

"The patient will win with the arrival of these new professions in the health sector. The healthcare professional will have more time for human treatment and will see his knowledge and diagnostic capacity multiplied exponentially thanks to technology," Garcia concludes.
