The Municipal Archives of Cartagena has selected as the document of the month the royal letter that it directed in 1584, from Madrid, Felipe II to the corregidor of Murcia, Lorca and Cartagena, ordering it for fishing boat owners to take boys under 15 years old. , to avoid frequent capture by the Moors.
As for the video of the month, this time the Archive has gone back to 1990 to offer the images made by Tele Cartagena to the few moments of the attack against the city headquarters, for a car bomb attack perpetrated the September 12 by the terrorist organization ETA, taking as its objective the residence of the Civil Guard agents and their families.
The attack, the first committed by ETA in the Region of Murcia, resulted in no fatalities, although eight people were injured.
