The Deputy Mayor and Councilor of the Social Welfare Area, Noelia Arroyo, has announced that, together with the mayor of Social Services, Mercedes García, will study the creation, by the City Council, of a Civil Dialogue Commission in which they are involved the social entities or NGOs of the city and the departments involved.
This has been explained after the meeting he held this Thursday with the national president of the Third Sector Platform, the Cartagena-born Luciano Poyato, who highlighted the good functioning in Cartagena of the social policy network and the joint work of non-profit organizations of profit and the city council, 'something that does not happen in all the municipalities'.
According to Arroyo, Luciano Poyato's proposal for the creation of the aforementioned Commission, "is a good idea, and now Mercedes and I have work to see the best way to get it going."
The vice mayor has mentioned here the importance of the 'transversality' of municipal services when it comes to solving the needs of the depressed neighborhoods.
In this line, the national head of the Third Sector also pointed to the need for the City Council to have a permanent observatory of the reality of social exclusion in the city 'without being afraid of the figures, since without a good diagnosis it is not possible You can make a good plan. '
For Noelia Arroyo, this is another good idea since, in addition to allowing to see the results of the actions that the city council carries out in depressed neighborhoods, 'we could also be attentive to those other areas that apparently do not seem to have immediate or obvious needs , that being a deceptive reality. '
Thus, the commissioning of the Civil Dialogue Commission, for the purpose of, once in operation, to develop a strategic plan of action against social exclusion in Cartagena remains for its study.
