This Saturday, August 3, comes one of the classic events of Cartagena football: the XII Ginés Pagán Memorial Trophy.
The Ciudad Deportiva Gómez Meseguer will host this match from 7 pm.
The Cartagena Fútbol Club and the Yeclano Deportivo will be in charge of paying tribute to the figure of Ginés Pagán, an entrepreneur who supported the city's soccer and table tennis teams and who died eleven years ago.

The presentation of the event, which has the collaboration of the Department of Sports of the City of Cartatgena, has been given by the vice mayor and mayor of the Sports Area, Noelia Arroyo, the president of the Cartagena Fútbol Club, José Gómez Meseguer, the president of the Yeclano Deportivo, Pedro Romero, and the son of the honoree, José Pagán.
Noelia Arroyo, who has started his speech by congratulating the management team of the Cartagena Fútbol Club for his hundred years of life, “I want to thank his director, for retaining his name and the spirit of a great sports brand, linked to the sport of Cartagena for many years, ”he has also had a memory for Ginés Pagán,“ sport is always in need of friends, of those who support and invest in it, of those who eventually become patrons of the sport, and if they do so over so many years and permanently, much more. ”
To this memory has been added the president of the Cartagena Fútbol Club, José Gómez Meseguer, highlighting that Ginés Pagán was an “addict” to the Cartagena sport, like his whole family, which is also worthy of this recognition.
Cartagena FC will play the Ginés Pagán Memorial Trophy with Yeclano Deportivo, a team that has promoted to the Second Division B of Spanish football.
Its president, Pedro Romero, has made clear the joy of being able to participate in this tournament for his entity.
The son of Ginés Pagán, José Pagán, closed the presentation by thanking, once again, all the organizers of the tournament for their work and the homage they pay to their father and who has allowed him to remain alive in everyone's memory.
