The City Council of Cartagena has signed on Tuesday July 30 at the City Hall a Collaboration Agreement with the Young Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena.
In this way, the Consistory will contribute 15,000 euros in 2019 to this musical group to promote the dissemination of classical music and its interpretation in all variants.
The Councilor for the Area of Culture, Youth and Equality, David Martnez, and the president of the Young Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena, lvaro Valdesueiro, have been responsible for initiating the agreement.
For the mayor, this agreement intends that the Young Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena can continue "with such a good program of concerts that they perform every year."
Martnez, who believes that the amount of 15,000 euros provided by the City Council is not enough, said that "we have the commitment to increase it because we believe that the work they do, not only in these specific concerts, but throughout the year, needs a important moral and economic support. ”
In this sense, the councilor hopes that in the next local budgets "this aid can be greatly increased now."
David Martnez has also encouraged everyone to attend future concerts offered by the Young Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena.
The president of the JOSCT, for his part, has shown his gratitude to the City Council for this musical group.
Municipal economic support, according to Valdesueiro, is “our fundamental help, we work with the money offered by the City Council.
With this money we will finish the 2019 concert cycle and we will be in touch to evaluate budgets and see if the subsidy could be extended for next year and the next ”.
The Young Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena will announce its upcoming concerts on its website and social networks.
