'Los Veranos de El Batel' brings you closer to the best theater.
This Saturday, August 3, at 10 pm, Roberto lvarez and Jimmy Roca star in 'Intocables'.
A theatrical adaptation of the acclaimed French film 'Intouchables'.
A film that also broke box office record in Spain when it premiered in 2012.
The theatrical adaptation tells the story of a rich aristocrat who, after an accident, stays quadriplegic and ends up hiring a young man from a working-class neighborhood who has just left prison.
The play, full of hope, humor and faith in the human being is staged by Roberto lvarez, Jimmy Roca, Begoa Maestre and Iker Lastra.
The touching, hopeful and fun work is based on a true story, collected in the autobiographical work 'Le Second Souffle', by Philippe Pozzo di Borgo, a wealthy aristocrat who became quadriplegic after a paragliding accident.
Fed up with caregivers who treat him with mercy or condescension, he hires a caregiver who has just left prison.
What he likes about him is that he sees that he has no compassion for him, just the opposite of other caregivers.
These memories narrate his experience after the accident and the relationship he has with a man completely different from him, Abdel Yasmin Sellou, a young Algerian from the suburbs, who becomes his caretaker.
Together they will mix Vivaldi and rap music, elegant speech and street jargon, expensive suits and sweatpants.
Two worlds that collide to finally understand each other.
Both will find in the other not what they want, but what they really need.
Along the way, both weave a relationship that goes beyond an employment agreement, until they become inseparable friends.
A friendship so improbable and unexpected, as definitive.
And from the opposition between them, from their eccentric coexistence, comedy arises.
Tickets are on sale at www.aditoriorioelbatel.es or in person at the auditorium box office, Monday through Saturday, from 10 am to 9 pm.
The play has a promotion, you can buy 4 tickets for the price of 3.
