The IES Ben Arabí, of Cartagena, has achieved a new institutional recognition, the First Prize for Transparency, Citizen Participation and Good Governance of the Region of Murcia, destined to non-university regulated education centers for the 2018/2019 academic year, granted by the Ministry of Transparency and Participation.
This prize, endowed with € 2,000, distinguishes those centers of regulated non-university education in the Region of Murcia - whether public, private or private concerted - that have stood out in the promotion and promotion of open government and the creation of a culture of transparency and citizen participation in the educational community, open to a near and growing environment.
An online information request questionnaire, or a QSF mailbox (complaints, suggestions and congratulations) are part of a website that has become a priority channel for communication between students, teachers, families and future students of this center, included in the Network of Centers of Educational Excellence.
In this website numerous data of the last years are registered.
Among the information that can be found in the open, are the results of EBAU (Baccalaureate Evaluation for University Access), the old selectivity;
of the diagnostic tests, discipline data, the number of reprimands to the students or the economic data of the center, among other data.
The project for which this bilingual center has achieved this distinction brings together a sum of actions aimed at promoting transparency, disseminating information and promoting communication channels, stimulating participation and, finally, the commitment to a management based on ethical principles and good governance, explains the director of the center, Manuel Díaz Segura.
Others awards
The educational center has achieved 18 distinctions in recent years.
Among them, the Label France Education Seal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, which recognizes educational centers that stand out for excellent teaching of the French language and culture.
Ben Arabí was a pioneer in Spain with the introduction of bilingual French teaching.
