The municipal government, through a joint motion presented this Friday in full, will require the Regional Government to implement the necessary economic and management measures to end the malfunction of Area II of Health in Cartagena.
A consensus initiative that, as pointed out by the deputy mayor and councilor of the Social Welfare Area, Noelia Arroyo, emerges as a 'response to the demand of Cartagena and the Cartagena', since 'we must give results to the neighbors'.
Arroyo said that "the issue of health must be taken out of politics."
As it says in the motion, specialized medical care in Cartagena is carried out from a hospital complex consisting of two university hospitals, the Santa María del Rosell hospital and the Santa Lucia hospital, but the inadequacies in material and human resources have caused delays in the start-up of specialties and services that were already compromised, as well as long waiting lists, limitation in the attention of Hemodynamics services or the closure of the Vascular Surgery Service of Saint Lucia.
Remember that this has caused patients to travel to other medical centers in the Region.
