Cabo de Palos becomes this Saturday, July 27, on the stage for the eleventh time of the Cross of Cabo de Palos.
This sports event, in which more than 2,000 runners will participate, is organized by the La Manga Athletics Club, in collaboration with the City Council of Cartagena and the City Council of San Javier, through their respective Sports Department, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena UPCT and the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia.
The presentation of the race took place on July 23 and was attended by the Vice Mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, the Councilor for Sports, Diego Ortega, the president of La Manga Athletics Club, Norberto Martín, the vice president of the La Manga Athletics Club, Juana Mari López and the Vice Chancellor of Students of the UPCT, Sergio Amat.
With a route of 6.5 kilometers, where the participants will run next to the lighthouse and the cliffs until they reach the Paseo Dimas Ortega, known as the Paseo del Puerto, this sporting event has a triple tourist, sports and also solidarity objective.
According to the vice mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, this race "projects a good image of La Manga del Mar Menor, reflecting unity between the administrations of Cartagena and San Javier."

Registration to participate in the race is closed.
Enrollees may pick up numbers on Friday, July 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the SPAR Shopping Center 'El Paso' in Cabo de Palos or next to the local Police, on Saturday July 27, from 11 to 14 hours and from 16 hours to 30 minutes before the start of each race.
Each participant will have a runner's bag, which includes a t-shirt, key chains, sweets, balls, oral cleaning products or a shoemaker.
The money raised by the inscriptions will go to solidarity organizations of the Region.
According to the president of La Manga Athletics Club, Norberto Martín, "after last year's race, this April, we have delivered several social entities with 7 checks, the amount of which is 1,000 euros each."
In the last ten years, more than 50,000 euros have been delivered.
The tests of baby, juvenile and child will begin at 6:30 p.m., while the absolute category, at 8 p.m.
