The Cartagenerista formation will demand to the Bishopric the fulfillment of the resolution of 2015 for the free opening four days to the month of the Cathedral
The MC Cartagena municipal group, through its councilor in charge of Heritage, María Dolores Ruíz, will demand, during the next Plenary of the Corporation, the opening of the Roman Theater of Cartagena for the free public visit at least four days a month, in days and hours previously indicated, stating this information in an accessible and public manner in an appropriate place of the Cultural Interest.
In this way, it will be claimed that both the municipal government and the members of the local executive who are part of the Foundation of the Roman Theater Foundation, Mrs. Castejón, as vice president, and Messrs. Arroyo and Padín, as employers, demand the opening of the Roman Theater of Cartagena, and not the Regional Museum if it is not your will, for the free public visit at least four days a month, in days and hours previously indicated.
It should be remembered that from the citizenship it was impelled that in the Regional Assembly the modification of the article 8.1.c., of the Law 4/2007, March 16, of Cultural Patrimony of the Autonomous Community was executed, publishing in the BORM the Law 9 / 2018, of October 11, of modification of the aforementioned 2007 law.
This way the legal vacuum of the autonomic norm was covered that allowed that, for the access to the BIC, it had to happen through 'box', whenever so established its owner.
The modification of 2018, as explained by the mayor, affected only "letter c) of paragraph 1 of Article 8, with the following wording: Allow your free public visit at least four days a month, in days and hours previously indicated , must record this information in an accessible and public manner in an appropriate place of the Cultural Interest. "
Also, María Dolores Ruíz has emphasized the failure of the regional deputies "to approve the Regulations for the development of the aforementioned law before December 31, 2018", which enables them to "'regulate' their whim and fail to comply , as they have been reminded on several occasions, judgments of the Constitutional Court, which link the plunder with the lack of a public visit to our heritage. "
"After eight months, the Roman Theater of Cartagena continues to violate current legislation with the excuse that it is a regional museum and, as such, does not have to provide free admission to it, something that we will demand from the municipal plenary, explaining that the entrance can be done for free through the door of the Cuesta de la Baronesa ", has outlined the MC councilor.
Opening of the Cathedral
On the Cathedral of Cartagena, María Dolores Ruíz recalled that, on April 30, the Virgen de la Caridad Platform reiterated to the Directorate General of Cultural Assets the obligation of the Diocese of Cartagena to comply with the resolution of the May 7, 2015 by which the visit to the Cathedral is allowed four days a month.
In this sense, MC will present an initiative so that the Plenary of the City of Cartagena urges the General Direction of Cultural Assets of the CARM to notify the Bishopric of Cartagena of its obligation to fully comply with the terms of the resolution of May 7, 2015, including Saturdays as business days for the public visit to the Cathedral.
The mayor of Cartagena explained that since this resolution is enforceable and there is no ordinary recourse, "it is incomprehensible that it has had to return to denounce its failure on several occasions without, to date, has managed to open the cathedral of Cartagena" .
Increase of the subsidy to the Brotherhood of Romeros de San Ginés de la Jara
In another order of things, the councilor of MC Cartagena has advanced the will of his training to demand an "increase in the annual subsidy received by the Brotherhood of Romeros de San Ginés de la Jara to reach fifteen thousand euros."
Immediately afterwards, Ruiz justified the motivation of an initiative fully justified by "the praiseworthy work that they carry out in the defense of the culture of the countryside of Cartagena, the recovery of our traditions, the beneficence and the increase of our material heritage".
The MC councilor recalled that the latest grant, estimated at nine thousand euros, does not reflect "the importance of the work of the group and the pilgrimage they organize, considered since March of this year as intangible heritage and an integral part of the BIC that make up the Monte Miral or Cabezo de San Ginés ".
Finally, María Dolores Ruiz has specified that, since "the local government has not participated in anything in the work of the groups of defense of the patrimony to obtain the declaration of BIC, at least, they are forced to order an update of the aid They receive institutional assistance to promote and maintain our traditions, including, possibly, the oldest pilgrimage in Spain.
