The Literature of Portugal will have its space between July 17 and 25 in the morning and afternoon at La Mar de Letras, the literary section of the La Mar de Músicas International Festival, which this year celebrates a Special Edition Portugal.
On Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 July, the literary contextualization course Paseos por la Literatura Portuguesa will carry out an immersion in the letters of Portugal by the hand of Filipa Soares of the Camoes Institute.
The first week of La Mar de Letras will be completed with the Mirando Windows route, with the painter and poet Antonio Gómez Ribelles on the morning of Friday the 19th.
The big week will start with the meeting with one of the most important and translated Portuguese writers of the last decades, Lídia Jorge.
The author will be presented by Lara López, writer and presenter of Radio 3. It will take place on Monday 22nd at 7:00 p.m. in the Assembly Hall of the Roman Theater.
On Tuesday, the 23rd in the Museum Assembly Hall at 7:00 p.m.
we will have the opportunity to listen to the multifaceted Afonso Cruz, director of animation films, illustrator and musician, and writer Marisa López Soria who will reflect on the novel and illustration.
On Wednesday the 24th the program of La Mar de Letras will have a triple session in the morning and afternoon.
We will start in the morning from the hand of Gonçalo M. Tavares, author of The Kingdom and A girl is lost in the twentieth century among others, which will teach the Course of Literary Creation, Writing and Imagination.
At midday in Cerveja and Poesía the guests will share their verses and their music with the audience in this music-poetic encounter.
Miguel Ángel Hoyos, José Alcaraz, Río Viré, Mavica and Elena Trinidad will demonstrate that, as Pessoa said, "The basis of all art is sensation" and "All art is a form of Literature".
In the afternoon the audience of the Festival will be able to listen to Gonçalo Tavares, author of which Saramago said: "you can not write so well at 35, you feel like hitting him in the face".
Tavares will be accompanied by the professor and Cartagena writer Diego Sánchez Aguilar.
The Sea of ​​Letters will come to an end on Thursday the 25th with two appointments.

Manuel Madrid, Head of the Culture Area of ​​the newspaper 'La Verdad', will talk with the Portuguese writer Dulce Mª Cardoso, awarded and decorated as Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters of France.
One more edition, La Mar de Letras will have specifically literary aspects such as the courses of university specialists and meetings with authors from the guest country.
