The Department of Social Services, through the Unit for the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities, have launched during this month of July, summer activities for seniors, which began on 2 July and will end next Friday 26.
With this initiative, it is intended to offer to the elderly, who do not have the opportunity to move to summer areas, meeting spaces where they will develop activities, appropriate to their demands and needs.
In this edition, many varied workshops have been programmed such as: Give summer color, laugh therapy, music therapy, memory training, memories workshop or modeling masterclass.
All of them are being carried out by professionals of this Department, as well as by other professionals who have been teaching workshops in this unit, throughout the course.
The Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García, visited the participants this morning, enjoying the screening of the video on the development of these activities, where the elderly have been the protagonists, telling different stories and anecdotes throughout the different stages of his life.
In these activities there have been a total of 25 participants, also counting with the day centers of El Algar and Los Dolores.
