The Department of Education has launched this summer a series of works in different centers for early childhood and primary education of the municipality that will involve an investment of more than 80,000 euros.
The edile of Education, Irene Ruiz, explained that "we have taken advantage of the summer holidays to carry out maintenance and repair work in a total of 24 schools in Cartagena."
These works consist of "the placement of new fences, painting of classrooms, construction of soleras in courtyards and installation of banks, likewise, as soon as we receive the subsidy from the Autonomous Community the reform of the sports track of the CEIP Our Lady will be carried out of the Santa Lucia Sea, for an amount of more than 15,000 euros, "said Ruiz.
As planned, the work in these 24 centers must have been completed before the start of the new school year.
With these 80,000 euros, the total amount that the Department has allocated to improvements in the schools of the municipality now amounts to about 315,000 euros.
