This Friday, July 12, has been held the closing ceremony of the V Open Summer School of the Historic Center and Sector Station 'ConVive in your neighborhood: open for holidays' that began on June 25 after the end of the course school and whose main objective was the coexistence and diversity of both neighborhoods.
Workshops, talks, cultural visits such as MURAM or sports and leisure activities are some of the many activities that have been developed over these weeks with the participation of more than 100 people including families, youth and children, protagonists in the brooch final with an act full of musical performances and dances, as well as a later lunch with fruit and healthy products.
The event, held at the School Board of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, was attended by the Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes Garcia, in his first act of office, along with technicians from the council, as well as councilors Gonzalo Abad and Aurelia García de la Municipal Corporation.
It also counted with the presence of the office director of Caixabank Store, Fernando Izquierdo, the general director of the EU, External Action and Cooperation, Manuel Pleguezuelo and the regional coordinator of Cepaim Foundation of the Region of Murcia, Pedro López.
This school is part of the Intercultural Community Intervention Project (ICI Project) promoted by the Obra Social 'la Caixa' together with the Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena and the Cepaim Foundation.
In total, there are more than 90 activities aimed at the whole family that have been carried out thanks to the participation of entities such as the Casco Intercultural Center, the Municipal Drug Plan, the Department of Education, the Casco Antiguo Health Center Area II Health, the UPCT, the MURAM, Parish and Caritas of the San Diego Social Center, the School Board of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Colectivo La Huertecica, ASIDO Cartagena, SODICAR and ASTUS Cartagena.

The Obra Social 'la Caixa' develops this project in a total of 37 territories with the consolidation since its inception nine years ago of the strengthening of local communities in the face of the need to face the new migratory movements of our society, which are increasingly diverse .
Developed since 2014 in Cartagena through the Department of Social Services together with the Cepaim Foundation in the neighborhoods of the Historic District and Sector Station where more than 700 people have participated in the various actions that have been carried out since then with the aim of promoting social cohesion and intercultural dialogue.
