Thirty people participated this Thursday in the Food Handler Course that has been taught at the premises of the Local Development and Employment Agency of Cartagena in La Milagrosa.
This course allows students who perform it to obtain the necessary knowledge to handle food adopting the preventive measures of hygiene and health that avoid food contamination.
The course, taught by Professor Miguel Ángel Cachafeiro, lasts four hours, ending with a knowledge comprehension exam that empowers students to work in any sector where food handling occurs, such as catering, agriculture or transport.
Students receive instruction on what is known as HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), a system implemented to guarantee consumers food safety.
