Today, on July 10, it is expected that the expansion and improvement of the rainwater collection works will be completed in the final section of Gisbert Street, at the height of the tunnel.
The works that were started last Monday by the water service concessionaire, Hidrogea, are intended to avoid the problems of flooding that this road suffers when it rains.
Gisbert Street is the natural outlet for the Casco Antiguo run-off, with some collapses of the current evacuation system that also cause water stagnation in the Paseo del Muelle area.
To improve this situation, summer has been used to expand the number of existing grids, transversally to the road, thus increasing its absorption capacity.
As a result of the works, the street has been cut off from traffic, and its opening is scheduled for completion.
