Since last June 25, children, youth and adults from the Historic Quarter and Sector Estates of Cartagena are participating in the V Summer School "ConVive en tu barrio: abierto por vacaciones".
It is an activity that is part of the programming of community actions of the Project of Intercultural Community Intervention promoted by the City of Cartagena, the Obra Social of "la Caixa" and the Cepaim Foundation.
Its main objective is to promote actions aimed at the promotion of intercultural coexistence, social cohesion and citizen participation.
Both in the design and in the execution and evaluation of the activity, representative groups of "diversities" that take place in both neighborhoods are participating, such as the Sacred Heart of Jesus Patronato School, Intercultural Centers, Cepaim Foundation, Sacred Parish Heart, Health Center, Municipal Drug Addiction Plan of the City of Cartagena, UPCT, MURAM, Health Center, Colectivo La Huertecica, Astus, Asido Cartagena, Cepaim Foundation ... Collectives and institutions representing the diversity of the territory.
Its programming includes activities of a very varied nature, aimed at all the neighbors: for the youngest ones (from 4 to 12 years old), they are enjoying activities of a socio-educational nature and of leisure and free time (workshop on ODS, Interculturality, disability ...) , teenagers are also enjoying activities such as Skape room at MURAM.
But also the programming includes activities aimed at families, among which the "Talk on socio-educational guidelines in parental relationships", the "talk about leisure and family time in our neighborhoods", the "Family Gymkana in MURAM", stand out. or "the exit to the beach".
The culmination of this school, will take place on the 12th with the Final Party, at which time the participating children and adolescents will share with their neighbors a sample of what they have learned during summer school.
More than 80 neighbors, including children and adults, have participated so far in the different programmed activities.
The development of the Summer Open School "ConVive en tu Barrio: Abierto por Vacaciones" is serving to consolidate the Community Process in the territory, defining it as a space for coexistence and joint construction of neighborhoods among entities, institutions and collectives citizens and citizenship.
It is part of the annual Community Programming of the territory, in which more than 25 entities and institutions are consolidating a model of conceiving the "construction of the neighborhood", from the participation and involvement of public administrations, social entities and neighbors. , putting in value, as singular wealth, the different diversities present in these neighborhoods.
THE ICU PROJECT IN THE HISTORICAL HULL AND THE SECTOR STATION
In Cartagena, the Obra Social "la Caixa" has been developing the ICI Project since 2014, together with the City Council and the social entity Fundación Cepaim in the neighborhoods of the Historic District and Sector Station where work is being carried out to promote social cohesion and intercultural dialogue.
In Historic District and Sector Station, priority is given to the diversity of citizens.
It is estimated that more than 700 people have participated in the various actions promoted by the ICI Project.
