Local Police officers and rescue workers and medical vehicles of the Firefighting, Salvage and Civil Protection Service of the City of Cartagena participated this morning in a simulation carried out in the beach of Galúa and Cala del Pino, in La Manga, to check the response times in an emergency.
This is the internal audit that every year has to overcome these services within the Q Q of Quality and that involves a maximum response time of 15 minutes, from the start of the rescue operation until the person is served by the toilets or transferred by ambulance to a hospital center.
On the beach of Galúa, the simulation consisted of a swimmer who suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest due to an immersion syndrome.
In cala del Pino, the emergency was caused by a spinal cord injury that a young man had suffered when jumping into the water from rocks and hitting his head with the bottom.
In both cases the response of the services have passed the quality test, since they have been able to respond in less than 15 minutes to these emergencies, rescuing and removing from the water the injured, who have been provided with health care necessary
